About Punter Southall Governance Services

PSGS are the trusteeship and pension governance experts. We share our extensive knowledge and experience and find really smart solutions to benefit our clients.


We seem new, but we’re not.

Our new name followed the merger in January 2018 of two long-standing firms, PS Independent Trustees and HR Trustees, collectively having been in business for over 40 years. As a firm, we’ve purposefully kept ourselves at the head of trusteeship and governance. New ideas, new solutions and new technology - that’s us.

We seem small, but we’re not.

We’re a team of 40 and are now probably the largest professional trustee firm in the UK. We’ve just been successful at keeping the personal feel we had at the very start.

Professionalism and personality have got us a long way. We currently work with over 210 clients covering over 420,000 members and £40bn in assets. From the very small (£0.5m) to the very large (£5bn), clients stay with us. They trust us to get on with the job and deliver great service, knowing we’ll be friendly too.

People are at the heart of our business – be that our team, others we work with or the members we represent. From new graduates starting their career with us to trustees with over 50 years’ experience, we’re a dynamic team that enjoys learning from and supporting each other and our clients.

We act for many pension schemes, including defined benefit (DB) and defined contribution (DC) pension schemes that are open or closed to new members, closed to future benefit accrual, winding up or merging. We work with both trust based pension schemes and contract based workplace pensions.

We believe expert financial and investment management are fundamental to the successful running of any workplace pension scheme, so we ensure we provide our clients with access to a strong team with extensive experience and a very wide range of skills.

We are members of The Association of Corporate Trustees (TACT), Faculty and Institute of Actuaries, NAPF, Association of Professional Pension Trustees (APPT) and Pensions Management Institute (PMI).
