“I wanted to look at the effectiveness of our trustee board, so Gillian, our PSGS scheme secretary, provided their trustee self-assessment tool to help me gather thoughts and opinions from others on the board. The tool was extremely easy to use and asked all the right questions to help me collect the information I needed as Trustee Chair. It is a great example of the way PSGS shares knowledge with their clients and makes dealing with key governance issues easy. As well as enabling me to meet one of the Regulator’s 21st century trusteeship requirements, using the tool has flagged trustee training needs and ways we could improve trustee meetings further. ”
“When requesting information by email, I have noticed that there is 'out of hours activity' to answer me. I regard this as a stand out 'above and beyond' - impressed.”
“PSGS was chosen because of their knowledge of the subject and awareness of our particular schemes.”
“Clare Owen has been a really excellent scheme secretary”
“Excellent service - as expected and why PSGS was chosen.”
“Ann and her team are very knowledgeable and proactive, liaise well with our other advisers and provide the Trustees with an invaluable secretarial service.”
Sophie is on our graduate training scheme. She supports our professional scheme secretaries.
Sophie joined our graduate scheme directly from completing her law and business degree at the University of Brighton.
PSGS has put in place a training plan to provide Sophie with support and exposure to a wide range of areas to give her a good grounding in pensions and to begin building her knowledge.
Sophie has started with three main clients, including one Pension Protection Fund (PPF) case, to get a rounded view of the work we do, concentrate on learning the ropes and understand how pension schemes operate.
She helps the rest of the team by dealing with member related queries, updating scheme governance documents and action logs, collating meeting packs, providing secretarial support and producing trustee meeting minutes.
Sophie has achieved two bronze awards in the National Maths challenge and a silver award for supporting the Bar Pro Bono Unit, raising £6,000 for charity.
